I would call it right away
To hear the laughter in your voice
would help to ease the pain
If heaven had a phone I would call it right away
if only to say I miss you
each and every day

Report this message By margaret grieco on 23rd Dec 2011hi mary, the fourth candle on the advent wreath is for mary. who would have thought that just that thought could bring me to tears. the carol service at little saling was beautifully simple, and the church was beautifully and simply decorated and the singing was wonderful but through it all i could hear your voice, your phrasing, your rhythm of life and i realised how again and again you produced the best of times out of the smallest of resources. who would have believed i have to reach for the three tenors on youtube to find a rendition of adeste fideles which is satisfactory and then it is still deficient. four candles, three tenors, christmas was your festival and I've only just worked out in how many ways it is the festival of mary. all my love meg
Report this message By val mcdermott on 19th Dec 2011Well Mary, here we are another Christmas without you and Da and you know what it doesn't get any easier. We dressed the tree with all the baubles we accumulated over the years and each one holds memories of our many times together and the laughs and tears that Christmases have brought. The one constant in all of this is the missing of you and Da. Love you both and always will. your Val xx

Report this message By margaret grieco on 29th Nov 2011hi mary,
for your birthday we put the flowers on the water at the kessock ferry. it was a beautiful day and i heard the news that they might start to run the ferry again. memories of all the childhood excitement and pleasures and at the same time a dreadful missing of you both as we go towards christmas. adeste fideles is following me everywhere at the moment. i can hear your voice in it - i guess not every home belted it out in latin but you certainly did. all my love meg
Report this message By margaret grieco on 24th Nov 2011hi mary, every step of the journey from holland to brussels you were in my mind. the time we got off by mistake at mechelen, the disbelief at the puny scale of the mannequin pise, the excitement at the busy-ness of brussels. on leaving brussels the piped music at starbucks played out adeste fidelis and the memories of a lifetime of christmas carols together seeped through every pore of my consciousness. no end to the missing, meg
