We Miss you

Hi Da, another Christmas without you both and it doesn't get any easier. You and Mary are never far away from our thoughts and we talk about you both constantly, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten I will miss and love you always, your Val xx

hi hughie, back from the low countries and getting ready to make my way up to the highlands again. your shed stands doing its valiant service in ely and still there are flowers there to adorn it. so very proud of that shed, you and me both. on the way back and fore to the highlands i remember your excitement with every step and every scene and i never leave peterborough or arrive there without counting out your two tunnels. all my love meg

hi hughie, we miss you so very much. as mary's birthday approaches, all the marks of the season that we are in are there. things we did together for halloween and guy fawkes and all the season's treats we shared as a family are everywhere to be found and you are both missing and missed. the memories are plentiful and testimony to the quality of parents that we had and have still in our memories. i miss you, meg

we miss you at every drink and every bar. there's always something missing - some element of laughter lost, some joke that has no audience now, some drink that is not as deeply savoured. we miss you both wherever we stand such loving and involved parents. all my love meg

We miss you both

hi hughie, so many things happen that you would laugh at and see the funny side of and i miss your crazy company when they do. this week you would have loved how the house lived with visiting voices. your battered music system provided the sound track for much dancing joy and laughter and we miss you and mary both so much in the very best of moments as well as in the quiet ones, who could have known what the loss of such vibrant parents would have felt like . i know you would both laugh at how we work at getting ourselves to the right places - laughter these days rarely fails to trigger a tear as well. but we miss your crazy company - both you and mary. memory is a poor substitute for the living mirth that was part of our family way. we miss you both so very much. meg

hi hughie, your flowers are on the table for father's day and I'll put the lights on on your shed and raise a glass to you and to Mary and to you both and to all of us together. i'll sit and remember all your living sayings and departing wisdoms. 'isn't nature wonderful?' watching fledglings flying and leaving their nest, and then we both laughed in the full knowledge of what was to come. you more than did your part to get us all ready for what had to be borne and done. 28th May 2011 - two years since our enormous loss,standing at the ferry pier to put your lilies on the water, mary,and the sun shone and i remembered our family times on the beach at north kessock and i remembered your story, hughie,of the rowing boat sunk without getting far off shore only to get you soaked and into trouble with your mother. your flowers looked fine on the water this day and the water took it to its flow very quickly and i remembered your children and their partners and the piper all here in tribute last year and know you would both love the ways we honour and remember you. the missing does not lessen but then neither does the gift of humour you gave even when tears are still so very close by. all my love and forever meg
