VERLANDER Frederick Leonard George (Fred) Verlander passed away at 6.30 am on July, 1 aged 93 years and 11 months. Fred lived out the last four years of his life with his youngest son, Neil and daughter-in-law Gigi at their country home in Hanley Swan, Worcestershire. He lived an amazing life as a husband to the late Doris, father of five, sons, grandad and great-grandad. A long serving soldier and army boxing coach, a sport's TV and Radio broadcaster. Fred even achieved that elusive 'hole-in-one' while playing golf with his son, Neil at the age of 89. A true competitor to the very end. He will be missed!.
