Report this message By Michael de Ruyter Schat on 28th Oct 2010I knew David for many years and our paths seperated in recent times. His death has come as a shock as I was hoping to see him on a forthcoming visit to Wells.
David and I went through many adventures including one where his old BOAC pal Ray Flood died whilst preparing a meal and we had to continue the cooking by steppping over his corpse because there were no emergency services within miles and the " show had to go on".

We only knew David breifly his presence was an inspiration to be happy and cheerful and funny, and I'm so very glad he met my 'Son and Heir' we will never forget his laugh and his dogs Bonzo and Tiny and we loved sleeping in the Green Room. I lived at the old rectory for about a year in 1979 just before i left school and have the most magical memories of his love of life and that house, his geese and turkeys.i will always remember him.Fondest Love Chris and Alison Brooks and 'heirs' x
