CLAIRE MELANIE STANLEY 1961 - 2010 After a long fight against breast cancer Claire sadly passed away peacefully and in no pain at Bishopswood Specialist Hospital, Rickmansworth on 15th June 2010 at 16:48, with her devoted husband, mother and father by her side. At 48 and with so much achieved and so much more to give, she will be greatly and affectionately missed by all who knew her, but never forgotten. Anyone who had the privilege of being touched by her warmth, kindness, enthusiasm, energy and selfless motivation will understand. Her funeral will be held at St Mary's Church Ashwell at 12:00 on Friday 2nd July 2010. Everyone is welcome to attend but no flowers, just donations for a Cyberknife radiotherapy machine for Mount Vernon hospital The Cyberknife is a highly accurate state of the art piece of equipment which can pinpoint and treat tumours previously thought inoperable. It uses robotic arms to deliver a pencil beam of radiation to any part of the body whilst tracking the movement of the tumour and patient, resulting in destroyed abnormal cells without damaging surrounding areas. Cheques made payable to: "Marie Curie Research Fund" with a note to say to be used for Dr Shah's fund. Send to: Jacqui Anderson (tel: 01923 844533), Marie Curie Research Wing, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Rickmansworth Road, Northwood, Middx HA6 2RN or donations welcome on the day.
